2016 Electoral Map Predictions: 50 days to the election

2016, 2016 Presidential Campaign, Electoral College, Predictions

There are 50 days before the 2016 Presidential election is settled and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton remains the favorite over Republican Donald Trump despite recent tightening of the polls. The polls in swing states show a distinctive advantage for Clinton over Trump, which has led to a consensus among poll watchers and statisticians that Clinton will be able to get the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency. The only poll that really matters is the one taking place in voting booths (and by mail) across the country, so this isn’t a foregone conclusion and 50 days is a long time in politics.
