I can understand people arguing from the position of pro-choice…I think it is ridiculous for many reasons, but I can understand it. However, if you had been more careful while reading Joshua’s comment, you may have seen this statement at the end, “i dont care how you support or do not support abortion. but if a child, baby fetus survives an abortion and you support throwing it the dirtly linin pile your a murderer.”. At this point, the babies have survived, and they are no longer in the womb. They are alive. They could grow up and one day fight on the front lines to protect YOUR life. How could you possibly deny them that chance? How could you support taking away the greatest treasure any person has ever had, the ability to live? Think back on human history, think of those great heroes we all admire, the Abraham Lincolns, the Franklin Roosevelts, the George Washingtons, and then think of what this country would be without them. I think we can agree that without those people, our lives would be dramatically different, and not for the better. Every child not allowed to live could be one of them.

As for the rest of your argument, it really doesn’t make any sense. First of all, I must say that you constantly mocking Joshua was done in very poor taste. Calling someone’s thoughts “absolute rubbish” and telling them to “wake up!”, they will very rarely respond in a positive manner. Can we no longer respond to peoples’ opinions in a civilized manner? In fact, I would argue that it is people like YOU, if anyone at all, who will be the death of democracy. You degrade other peoples’ opinions because they are different from your own, which is contrary to the very essence of democracy.

On a political note, I find it interesting that in 1980, Barack Obama was not involved in government in any capacity. In fact, he still has barely been involved in government in any capacity. A few terms as senator does not a leader make. He has never led anything except for his campaign, and any competent candidate should have completely dismantled any Republican after the Bush Administration, so obviously he has not led his campaign all that well. As for all of his “change” mumbo-jumbo, it is all just political bull designed to get people to like him at first glance. McCain-Palin has done the same thing with the “maverick” idea. However, McCain and Palin have at least backed it up a little; what has Barack done to prove he will bring change? He was supposed to bring “a new type of politics” to the fore, without any negative campaigning, but all we got was more of the same.

I do not like either of the candidates this year very much, but I have a far greater dislike of Obama than McCain. He has far more experience, he is far less annoying, and he is much more honest. Plus, when Obama talks, he always seems incredibly arrogant, and I just can not find it in me to trust him. Oh, and his tax cuts for everyone making less than 250,000? Yeah, he has been dropping that once every couple weeks, latest I heard it was down to those families who make less than 120,000 a year. Good luck small business owners who employ 80% of Americans!

You are another sad case of why Democracy is failing in the United States because rather than read through the legislation bills in their entirety and then see where each politician stands you’d rather choose the lazy way of buying into pathetic “glittering generalities” that Republicans are so found of throwing out there. Wake up and do your bloody homework you fool. Obama is better poised at uniting America and its allies to solve major problems and you’re busy strung up on the notion of fetuses that are “supposedly” being alive and thrown away. If you cling to dirt and mudslinging than look up John McCain and his involvement in the Lincoln Savings and Loan scandal when in the 1980′s many savings and loan banks went under during Reagan’s term. A crisis that utterly parallels the current financial quandery that we are in. Start doing your history research…McCain has been around and he hasn’t always been a “maverick.”
